Need some help with inside the rear driver's side door

I need to get a new/replacement rear handle as there is a broken off part that sits inside the door, probably what always breaks on them and I'm looking for that part but what I need help with is where and how this part goes back in the door. I've been looking around for a schematic of the door inside, but so far no luck. Has anyone seen this part and can you explain how it is mounted inside the door. I know the slotted part goes on the crossbar piece that has the U shape in it, the inside spring clips to that crossbar, but somewhere inside the door, the other end of this part goes into a hole, but I can't seem to find it. Schematic would be great or photo even better. Can't see inside the door well of course,
