Hi. I haven't been here for a while. My SHo needs a front and rear motor mount. They said only Ford makes them - about $200.00 for a pair - true? Thanks

That is true. Don't try to get them from advanced auto because they will give you a regular taurus's motor mount.

Only Ford makes them but you can get reinforced mounts (which I HIGHLY suggest) from SHO Nut performance.

Check it out here.

The mounts are under the Motor_Mounts section link to the top of the page.

there are TWO mounts I know of that are not available aftermarket..... the Front MTX mount, and the ATX Tranny Mount.... all the rest are readily available after market and are much cheaper.... that being said only one person has tried any of them to my knowlede (one person on the forum that is) and had a bad experience with the front ATX mount...... You could give them a whirl and see if you have any better luck, OR you can cough up the 200 bucks.

Listen, you can buy them stock from suppliers that will cut you a deal with the STOCK FORD mounts at the following place:

Ford Parts Network

--OR--

Get reinforced ones at SHO Nut...link provided above. Don't bother with ANY aftermarket mount...SHO Nut's are reinforced STOCK FORD mounts.

anything extra needing to be done when putting in re-enforced motor-mounts? anything that a shop would charge extra for?
