My buddy just bought a sho shop cold air intake, 80mm maf, and lpm package from a guy he found on e-bay. The ad said it was for a 95, with the d4ui cpu. He has the d4ui cpu in his 93 atx. When we went to install it, we found that the hoses don't fit, but thats the least of our problems, the new maf sensor has a different connector. Is the wiring harness connecter to the maf different on the 94-95, than on the 93??? Or is this the connecter for the lincoln, or the mustang? The lpm is setup for this maf, and you cant run one without the other. Our main objective here was just to get an lpm to help the sloppy shifting in the ATX, so were not entirely opposed to running just the lpm, with the stock maf, but it was a good package deal, so why not have the 80mm maf too? This atx is stock except for the cold air intake, 41mm butterflies, catless y-pipe, and 3" exhaust, so would the 80mm maf even improve hp? Any advice from someone who has experience in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post a pic of the MAF? Some of them require an adapter to fit the air box.

That part number shows it to be an OBDII MAF (e.g; Ford Expedition). You need an OBDI (pre-96).

I talked to Ford. They said if the lpm is calibrated for that maf it should work. The guy also said that Ford changed the connector. Were going to make an adapter harness and try agian . Thank you for the responses , we'll keep posting and let you know what happens

I'd try the LPM without the 80mm MAF; some have had luck, and some (like me) did not; had problems with the 80mm (Ford) MAF and LPM combo after 2 reprograms on my MTX and ultimately went back to stock, and it runs great again. Could probably get it dialed in better eventually, but realtime programming at the dyno shop, and not by mail is the best way to get it done right, and the first time.

wont work by simply changing the harness. if the lpm is programed for that MAF, it wont work by simply plugging in the lpm with your stock MAF either....that is it wont work well.
