Need Help Replacing My Struts. Please?

I'm ordering new KYB struts within the next couple of days and was wondering if anyone could give me some step-by-step instructions or maybe some good advice for when I install them. I have air tools, 3 jacks, two jack-stands, a spring depresser and a little know-how. Think that's enough? I would be VERY grateful for any help thumb !

I dunno, best advice I can give right now is just dig in. Strut and spring removal and replacement is one of the easiest jobs IMHO. Best way to learn is through doing and if and when you run into snafus then ask for help here.

I just did the rears last week on my '90. I needed a good deal of pb blaster and get a wire wheel for a drill to clean up the bolt threads before you try to remove stuff. Loosen the strut tension rod first and you should be able to make quick work of the rears. Get new bushings if you need them while you're there already.

The shop manual (or even the Chilton's) covers strut replacement in very straightforward terms. I generally plan about an hour per corner. SHO Times has a pretty good write up too IIRC.

The main recommendation I would make is to get everything you'll need in advance, especially new hardware: mounts, bearings, bumpers & bellows, pinch bolts, etc. I don't know if the KYB's come with the bumpers & bellows, but I know the Tokicos don't and the old ones are often torn up pretty badly. Only use the airtools for disassembly, you're going to want to tighten all the fasteners with a torque wrench to factory specs.

If your car has been a FL car it's whole life, you probably won't need much PB Blaster, but it's always good insurance to avoid a fastener siezing or shearing on you.
