Car hasnt been started in almost three years. Replaced the timing belt and it never got finished. So now when trying to start it needs starting fluid to stay running, also engine knocks a little. Does this mean the injectors are clogged from sitting so long or could it be something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I would like to get this car running again.

I would go through the fuel system. First, do you hear the fuel pump run for 1.5 seconds as it pressurizes the system when you turn the key to the On position? If not, you have a fuel pump issue to diagnose. You can check the fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail if you have a gauge, or at less depress it to see if you get a strong squirt of fuel. The fuel filter should be replaced. What about old gas? You need fresh fuel for it to run. I would disconnect the vent hose from the tank and insert a siphon hose through there to get out all of the old fuel you can. The injectors may be plugged, but check these other things first.

First, make sure the belt is on in the correct position. The lettering should be 'upside down' if looking at it from the passenger side, and make sure all the timing marks line up with the #1 cylinder at TDC.
