A few months ago I took my car to a collision shop to get an idea what it might cost to get the body back in shape, bad rockers, doors rear quarters, inner wheel well has wholes. The price I got was in the thousands close to 10k. So I have decided to try and find a body from somewhere down south like GA or somewhere down there. Does anybody have any connections in the southern states would prefer to stay away from the coast line for obvious reasons. Thank you for your feed back and help.

The price will not be wildly different between these 2 scenarios:
1.) buy a body from southern states and have it shipped to the Great Lakes area
2.) Buy a running car wherever you can and drive it to the Great Lakes area.

Sometimes people offer a body for the simple act of removing it, but they are hard to come by when you need them.

The shop you took your car to had no desire to work on your car, but that is pretty typical.

I know a guy in the Fort Worth area who has a decent running red 93 atx that you could likely get for $2k or maybe less. I am sure the body is solid as it is a TX car.

If you feel confident enough to drive your car to a distant location and swap your drive line into another car and drive it back home, then you should change your name on this forum, as shonewbie does not fit.

Good luck, and I am sure you will find what you are looking for.

In the mean time, you can fix the rockers yourself, bolt on some doors that don't have as many holes, plug the quarters yourself, then plastidip (paint) the car. It is a lot of work, but you can drive it during the update.
