I got a 130k mi SHO as a daily driver/beater car while I work on other project cars. I don't know the maintenance record before I had it but I have only done basic maintenance since I bought it just to keep it running. From my knowledge it has never had any major valvetrain, engine, or drivetrain work. The engine recently overheated when the water pump blew, the starter was grinding the flywheel as well. We replaced the starter($150 I didn't want to spend) and now it needs at least a new water pump and probably radiator, basically the whole cooling system. It was also making some weird *** noises which sounded like the valvetrain or something, I don't think this car ever had any 60k or 120k services so it might need major engine work as well as transmission work, those ATXs suck. I got it for a little under 2k and have put maybe $500 into it and don't want to spend much more $ on it. I am wondering if it is worth even tearing into the engine to fix or if I should just part it out. I have new tires, new starter, new struts, new fuel sender, as well as the rest of the cool parts that I could get some money for like the 3.2 ATX motor, electric fan, body pieces, etc all in good condition. Need some expert SHO advice, figured this would be the place to ask. THANKS!
