I had a leaky valve so I changed it and pulled a vacuum. Held the vacuum fine so I started to fill with freon. Opened the manifold on the low side like the instructions said to. The system took in a can and then just stopped. The pressure on the low side shot up to 80 and the high side to 75. The compressor won't cycle on and I even tried to bypass the switch on top of the dryer like I have before on my tbird. What am I missing? The compressor turned on fine untill it started to run low on freon. The compressor and all lines were replaced less then a year ago. If anyone know whats wrong please let me know. PM, email, text, call, or smoke signal. Thanks in advance for any help.

Was the car running when you were filling it? Do you have power at the low side switch?

Is the accumulator the same as dryer? If so thats the plug I was trying to jump. I had to do that on my bird to get the compressor going. I know this compressor was working just fine untill it ran low on freon. I will have to go buy a test light.

To the top

Still have not been able to get this working. I sent the car to a shop to get looked at and they said it was the ccrm. They said everything was working fine with it besides the part that controls the ac. I picked up a used ccrm from another local owner and made sure the letters on them matched. Hooked everything up and still nothing. I dont have a volt meter but just a test light. I checked for power at the cycling switch plug on top of the dryer and that is getting power. I jumped the plug and still nothing. I then checked the plug at the compressor for power and the light barely came on. It would blink at a steady pace the entire time I was testing it. Is it suppose to be blinking? Could that be another bad ccrm or something in the wiring? Is there a way to test the ccrm's? If anybody has any ideas please let me know.

One of the plugs in the wiring to my 95 MTX's CCRM had some corrosion such that the compressor would not turn on IIIRC.

Looks like it was another bad ccrm. Found out the hard way coming to work this morning. The fans stopped working and the fuel pump stopped working as I was pulling in. Had my gf bing me the old one so I can get home later. Looks like I need to post in the wanted section.

I have heard other people have used a different letter ccrm before and it worked but what letter would be the closest match for the "D" ccrm? Im not worried if the cruise control works.
