Need a replacement bushing

Recently required a POS '92. The engine is tilted waaaay back and the intake manifold has scratches from rubbing on something. I got underneath the car to find out what was causing it and this is what I saw.

My problem is I don't know what this bushing is called. Based on looking at pictures it looks like either subframe bushing or strut rod bushing. I posted here before buying anything to make sure I don't buy the wrong thing. Can someone confirm which bushing I need to replace? Thanks. -Joe

Subframe bushings... you may need a subframe recall kit... (more like 2 kits) Dont worry they're pretty cheap.

2 for the whole car (4 corners)

one kit will do 2 corners.

Its better to buy the SOLID frame bushings.

Also have you checked the motor mounts?
That can also make the intake rub on the hood.

One write-up I saw on this site said the recall kit is a cup that goes into the hole where the bushing goes, and it looks like it makes the hole smaller to keep the bushing from sliding through. It looks like this has the cup on it already?

Its better to buy the SOLID frame bushings.

Not if there are already problems with corrosion. Gen 3 bushings are probably a better choice.

The recall is for the plate nuts in the unibody which the subframe bolts thread into. The original nuts were prone to failure from corrosion. It has nothing to do with the bushings themselves.

If you're getting new bushings, don't get the stock replacements you linked to. Get four sets of the rear subframe bushings for a gen 3 (96-99) SHO. They require a very slight modification to either the subframe or the bushings themselves, but they are a nice upgrade for the v6 SHOs. They're available from Ford or from RCM.

Today I was as far as checking out at shonutperformance when I read the Recall Kit description and it says "Nut, bolt, washer, plug." Can't I put this kit together myself for less than $23? Is there more to it than that? Thanks again. -Joe

You dont have the bushings at that price either.

That bolt is a high grade bolt that wont rust or snap under heavy loads , if you want to risk you safety by picking up some average joe bolts at your hardware store , go right ahead. If you cant afford 20$ , you seriously cant afford to drive a car. BTW the nut is also a little bit special. If you go on the RCM website , you can see the whole kit.

Unnecessary comment. I can afford it, but why throw away $20 if I could spend $5 at a hardware shop? I appreciate the reference to RCM for the picture though.

Recently acquired vehicle. If I had to guess I'd say their tractor broke down and they heard what power-houses SHO's are.

Not an unecessary comment , why go cheap on something that holds the whole engine , tranny , the whole direction setup and front suspension? Way too important to save a couple pennies.

Im with you to save some cash on some stuff , but not this.
