I typically wouldn't care about replacing a stretched cable but I have a dyno scheduled for this sat morning. I found out when I was doing my plugs/wires today I noticed with a friend that was inside playing with my accel pedal that my butterfly in the TB barly opens 1/4 of the way it should at WOT pedal position

So now I am wondering what type of power enjoyment I am missing by driving my 3.2L MTX around with such a severlely stretched cable.

Anyways I NEED a NEW(highly doubt there still around) or nice TIGHT one ASAP, will pay over night shipping or pick-up up to 50miles from RI!!

P.S. Is there a possible short term fix to my real slacked cable, adding something in-line to it to take up tension? Doing something on the pedal side for the butterfly to open all the way?

Edien i'm in need of one too... is there a place to buy new ones?

Yea there was it's a place called a Ford dealer

If you do find a new one it's always worth every penny, just for now I might use the snap ring/zip-tie idea to take up the slack for when I go on the dyno but I defitnaly to buy another TB cable just so I don't have to hack it and use zip-ties or snap rings.

If you can order one from Ford, you know they are going to over-price you like crazy. What you might wanna try is go to a local junkyard... I got mine for about $5. haven't put it in yet, cause I can't get that stupid plactic piece off the top of the gas pedal. :madflame: I'll probably work on it next weekend.

if you are really in a pinch for a cable come dyno day time you can tie a piece of string to the throttle linkage and have someone next to the car pull it open, just use kite string nothing heave incase it somehow gets caught in the tire so the string will break piecefully without any damage.
