Need A/C parts for 95 MTX

HELP! it's upper 90's heading to 100+ and my A/C quit. The rubber puck disintegrated on the clutch, due to compressor seize, metal shards in the AC lines. Worked flawlessly right up until it self destructed - no warning.

Shop ordered the "kit" for the '92-95 SHO and it came with wrong compressor and wrong hoses, but correct receiver dryer. At least they are different from what was on there. Are there really 2 different compressor styles of MTX and can they be interchangeable 1 to the other? Shop was not willing to try. Now their jobber is saying there is another kit shown, but inventory is zero, with no restock date. Are these ATX only parts? SLO only parts? Another supplier shows they can get one correct hose with the orifice tube, based on the pictures, but not the compressor itself... Can anyone here recommend someone to rebuild my old compressor and make hoses if I ship it to them?

The compressor you need is a Nippondenso and is exclusive to the SHO.
I believe that the compressors are interchangeable from 89 to 95.

The really difficult parts to find are the bolt-on compressor manifolds, so save the metal manifolds.

The routing lines are different from the automatic cars to the manual cars, but those lines can be sourced with a lot of effort.

I would get information from VintageAir on anything you cannot find through your normal supply chain.

Search online for "Four Seasons 57365". That is the correct part number for the rebuilt compressor that you need. You can find it online for $120 with the clutch if you look. There is a Ford Reman unit on ebay right now for $49 but it doesn't come with the clutch.

These are the correct numbers needed for the hoses -

Receiver Dryer/Suction Line
Four Seasons - 55641 $41.79 Rockauto

Refrigerant Hose
Four Seasons - 55722 $16.38 Rockauto

When looking on Rockauto it shows the incorrect compressor if you search for the 3.0 SHO, but if you search for a 3.2 the correct one shows up.

The 3.2 requires different hoses so ordering a Kit from RA is not an option.

I'm replacing my AC in the 89 I just bought. I bought one of the Ford remans on ebay. Let me know if you want the number and I'll PM it to you. I think you would be better off getting one with a clutch though .

Thanks for all the input!! The shop is closed over the weekend, but I'll be there Monday to take a close look at what they have and look up the parts you've identified. I know the DPO had had struggles with AC on this car but he told me he finally got it licked. I guess not...

Just an update - the shop finally got the correct rebuilt compressor and orifice tube/hose. The had the correct receiver dryer from the first incorrect kit. Some kind of system flush pulled out a thimbleful of metal shards. A painful $2100 and three weeks later I have functioning AC again. The rebuilt compressor seems slightly noisier than the old one, but it comes with a 1 year warranty so I guess it will self destruct before 1 year if the noise is the harbinger of a problem.
