Looked at NAVTEQ today for a map update for my 2010 SHO, $199.00. Really are They out of their flippin minds. I can buy a really nice GPS with lifetime updated for near half that. WTF. Does anyone know of a place to get them for less. Thanks.

You might try Ebay. That's what I plan on doing when I have the time.

eBay My A5 card was $60....including shipping and received about two days early. Make sure that the A5 card is compatible with your 2010 some of them are MFT (2013 and up) models. Like your screen name Former USN/USMC Air Wing.

My $.02 worth, if you haven't done it already, or for others considering upgrading their Nav is that for the $$$ you get 2) dvd's with the Nav update and the latest Ford/Sync firmware versions, plus the Gracenotes update. Pricey but if you plan on using all of the features available to you it is worthwhile.

I did it and I just consider kind of like a maintenance item. I bought mine directly from Ford/Navteq. Might have paid full $ but I didn't have to worry about whether it would work or not either.

Have an SHO kinda day!

So I bought the newly released 7.0, but my CD player is locked up. Looks like I'll have to source a used radio. They range from $150-$700 used from what I am finding.

Oh I have the right version, 2010 SHO requires a 4 DVD set. Previous version was v6.0x.

Go to navigation.com and you will see. No nav cards on a 2010.

Just released July 17.
Supplier code J5C2G version 7.0x

I was thinking of getting the map update too. One of my local roads was renamed, and it's driving me nuts. It's on sale right now for $149 through sometime in September if I recall. Now, if only Ford would give us the upgrade to the latest GUI for the touch screen though, I'd be sold in a heartbeat. (It's really quite nice compared to the old one.)

$149 right now at Navigation.com. When you go to Navigation.com checkout it will ask you to go to the system settings and get your "application" number on the screen. The same screen has your grace note version, and a bunch of other numbers. Version 7 is also on sale for $149 still.

If you happen to find a copy on ebay that hasn't been registered to a vin you can use this link to obtain a code: http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-FordNorthAmerica-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductRef=E2192-0776-405%40Navteq-FordNorthAmerica&JumpTo=OfferList&NewLocaleID=en_US&NewDomainName=Navteq-FordNorthAmerica-Site&ProgramUUID=QmYKCghBWVgAAAE1AJgX3sTK&utm_campaign=FordClarionDealerCodes&utm_medium=online&utm_source=FordClarionDEALER12

My cd crapped out so I can't update yet, but I found a salvaged sho in CT with a good am/fm/cd/sat/nav etc so I have to wait. Btw, it's a pain to remove the head unit. First time took at least an hour. Next time it shouldn't (when used unit arrives).

If you ever need a used part use car-part.com and it searches the entire US for salvage yards matching your part need.

What is this 7.0 you are talking about? The NAV card should be A5 for North America and the MFT update is 3.6.2 I believe

2011 must use the SD card??? If it does thank your lucky stars! Us 2010 owners have to do a 4 DVD update that I am told can take a couple of hours!

Is it even remotely possible to get MFT working on 2012 or older? I really like the UI much better in my wife's car, which has the MyFord Touch.

It would take a miracle to get it to work. Everything in vehicles these days are all interconnected and is truly a computer network.

F/W, JMR: There was no model year info only a join date of Jul 2014 figured it could be a 2013/14. No harm intended but good little tidbit about the 4 DVD set for pre 2013 models.

Check out GPS underground...you can download all updates free...need to do some reading on the site though
as it can get complicated.

Never mind...these guys are still trying to figure out the Ford sync system.
Good reading though.

Thanks for the link on the nav update. I'll buy first of Sept.

WOW! four hours, that's half a day babysitting my installation process.
Like most software it requires a unique registration key that is given during purchase.
Interesting reading, despite the enormous time situation. I'm going to do it.
