if thats truly a taurus transmission side cover gasket

make sure to give it its proper name either being from the

AXOD, AXODE, AX4S or AX4N transmission

when u start talking about ATX stuff, 99.9% of the world out there besides SHOForum thinks of a different 3 speed 80's transmission Ford made, that is actually called the ATX.... I wish people would get passed this habbit, and use correct terminology so you don't sound like a fool to other people-or confuse them, but old habbits die hard....

I've heard that all you have to remove is the drivers side halfshaft and fender liner, support from underneath, remove the transmission mount and mounting boss (it's removable), and bingo, off comes the side pan.

I've heard, anyway.

. . . . I wish people would get passed this habbit, and use correct terminology so you don't sound like a fool . . . .

- I guess we all have our pet peeves. I wish people would get past the habit of using incorrect spelling, so they don't look like a fool when they criticize others for using incorrect terminology.

Dude no need for the BS. All I asked was a simple question, if you can't help then you should not bother to clutter up the boards with useless crap.

Well then it's a good thing we're on SHOForum, where 99.9% of the people who read ATX knew he was referring to the AXOD-E (AX4S for 1994 and later applications).

I don't have an ATX SHO and I knew what that was :) Then again, I know what every gasket on the MTX cars look like.

Also, while we're being *****: the AXODE and AX4S are different names for the same transmission. The AX4S (AXODE) and AXOD all use the same gaskets. The AX4N uses the same side pan gasket as all the others IIRC.

Also, +1 on making sure your shit doesn't stink while holding your nose at others' shit. Doofus. It was a SHO guy asking 10,000 other SHO guys about a SHO question. If you really want to be 'the rest of them", I suggest you go to a Honda forum where they neither know nor care what you drive or anything about it.
