So, BAYSHO had a small get-together at our local track today for 1/4 mile runs. It was my first time and it was alot of fun.

So tell me what you think of my numbers. Mods are in the sig. And before anyone says it, yeah, my R/T SUCKS. I need to work on that.

R/T = .728
60' = 2.546
330' = 6.699
660' = 10.105
MPH = 71.41
1000' = 13.050
1/4 = 15.509
MPH = 93.84

There was a pretty good headwind. Temp = 73, Rel Humidity = 73, Absolute Bar = 29.94

Well with those mods which are pretty close to mine your car definately has more potential then that. If you get your 60' down to more like a 2.2 your 1/4 mile time should drop a significant amount into the 14's i would think...as long as you dont miss any shifts.

Yup, your car has 14s in it for sure. I've turned slips almost identical to that and with some practice I'm down to a 14.7.

And remember, when you're just trying to get the best times possible, don't worry about your RT because that doesn't affect your ET.

looks just like some of the slips i have from my 91.
its all about the 60' on these cars,your trap speed is pretty good.
try and focus on getting your 60' down to 2.3 at least,and your 660 down
to 9.8 your car will do the rest!

also another good tip:
if you drive you car to the track,when you get there,PARK IT.
let it cool down,buy some ice and put it on the intake and TB area
this really works!!!! a consistant driver will notice!

No quiafe ... so I could break the tranny. But hey, I already broke the engine, the tranny has gotta be cheaper! :laugh_ti:

Yeah, I will more than likely go again, and aim for 14's. I think it will be fun to try and get there.

So how do I get that 60' down? I was sidestepping the clutch pedal at about 25-2800 rpms. Higher than that and I got some wheel hop. I was also shifting at around 7-7200 and on a couple of shifts, I chirped the tires into 2nd and one even chirped when I dropped it into 3rd!

I had some nice compliments from some of the other cars (rice) out there.

Anthony,

Too bad Sacramento Raceway is so far from you. Having run at both, and compared times for similar cars between the two, it's pretty clear that Infineon is SLOOOOOOOOW. Found a timeslip for a LS1 Camaro trapping at 102mph -- not a noob driver, either. The other cars running there looked like they were all running slower than usual, so I bet you'd trap 3-4mph faster without the headwind and the uphill climb (I coasted down the dragstrip after I blew my motor two years ago at a track day -- it's definitely uphill if you're doing drags). At Sac, with a little more work on the launch, it should be no problem to be in the 14s. Or find a night when it isn't blowing a 20mph headwind... (not sure if those exist).

theres a few ways people have found to launch.
mine is to revv the car high around 4500,and when i get the last yellow
i start to slip the clutch and give it gas at the same time untill im under full throttle.when it catches you should be in a good power band around 4k rpm.this way you should have very little wheel spin.however it is a little harder on the clutch.

For a good launch, you have to keep the RPMs up. Whether that be through slipping the clutch or spinning the tires, or a mixture of both.

I can personally vouch that your car is a 14 sec car, well sorta, haha. My car ran a 14.8 with the previous owner, and I have only run a best of 15.5 so
I know its got it in her its just me she needs a better driver:rofl:

With DRs or slicks its still hard to get a good launch. IIRC Mark N was running 2.0-2.1s with his 3.2L MTX and Hoosier slicks. Has anyone seen a SHO run under 2.0?
