My 2013 Interceptor

I wanted to share some early photos of my project. This is my 2013 Police Interceptor, which I use daily as a law enforcement demonstration vehicle. Since I show this to a LOT of agencies, I wanted to go for a more aggressive and stylish look. The car is lowered with Eibach springs, and I added 20" wheels. For those interested in police goodies, it has a complete Havis console, Panasonic Toughbook, GPS, dual Ka band Radar, Elsag License plate reader, thermal imaging camera, and a Whelen CanTrol warning system. Nope, not this one. Could be another rep though. There are a few of us that have Whelen vanity plates in various states.

But most agencies in IL wouldn't opt in on the GPS....

Police Unions fight those tooth and nail as there's no definitive use for them other than for ADMINSTRATION to use same as a disciplinary tool.

Other than that, cool stuff.

I got to tour the Ford Police / Interceptor Upfitting Facility known as TDM, and it was/is a pretty cool facility.

Great Looking Vehicle. Have seen a few new Taurus Sheriff cars in Collier Co, where we live in Naples.

Also saw a new Chevy (Holden Diplomat) - Kentucky HWY P. sitting in median checking everyone out, last Wed.

I get the shakes just searching all the toys that you have installed! Had a cousin get nailed by IA HWY Patrol with license plate scanner... Guess he was driving without a license!!!

GPS is everywhere in commercial vehicles. Cedar Falls Utilities added it to their vehicles, to supposedly improve service... but is being used predominantly for discipline. Amazing where employees drive and what they do!!!!

Police GPS or AVL, Automatic Vehicle Locators is more commonly used in conjunction with computer aided dispatch systems. A dispatcher can look on a large monitor and see where every car is that he/she needs to communicate with. This makes for more efficient response times. Personally, as a general rule, I feel the people that complain about someone knowing where they are, are the same folks that are most likely not where they are supposed to be.

I believe the new Chevy Caprice Police sedan is based on the Holden Berlina. It's basically a Pontiac G8 wth Chevy Emblems. A civilian version of the Caprice is due out next year.

It's the 120" wheelbase car... Not the 116" Commodore wheelbase G8 of which I have 2. Maybe the Berlina is same as the big Holden sedan... Didn't check on website today. G8 in middle eastern countries is a left hand drive Commodore that is badged a Chevy Lumina. Next Commodore (G8) vehicle to hit US will be Chevy SS which is the upgraded platform version, due in 2014. The doors and greenhouse are identical to current Commodore and our G8's but Holden has removed about 200 lbs of weight and changed look of fenders, hood, trunk and both front and rear clips. New LT 1 engine from 2014 Corvette will be available, and may be the only engine...

Me.. I'll keep my modded G8's. Sorta like my friend who has a 2008 BMW 650 Conv. 2013 would cost $50. K to trade, and it's almost the same thing, except for turbos.

Not to mention, all to often, those desk queens forget very quickly where they came from.....

Must be the fumes from the paint used to decorate those posh office spaces.
