Answers in bold.

I'm so glad you did that btw! So what you're saying is peoples time is worth money? That's wonderful! Sounds like Aarons brackets might actually be worth as much as he is charging. He put in the leg work to make the design, had a shop manufacture the part. He had PE check out the part as well as worked with wilwood to help get a kit together. So if it's ok for these other people to do similar work to him it should be ok for him to charge for his leg work and time he put into it like everyone else. It doesn't matter if they did 1000 hrs of testing, by the logic in the thread PRICE is what matters. So if the GHIC for example (not trying to hate on matt sorry!) only cost $200ish to manufacture why should it be sold for almost $900? You want to talk about mark up and gouging, based on this thread (again) that is what is happening with this product. Even if he was paying $500 per unit, that is a $3-400 markup, and that's just fine? As a side note for the water jet or your buddy who can machine for cheap. That's all well and good that you have a friend that is willing to cut you a deal, but that's not how the real world works for part manufacturing. Stuff costs what it cost, and if you don't like that, you can put in the leg work yourself to try and find a cheaper solution which I'm guessing will never happen. It's certainly easy to sit behind a keyboard with no actual experience in doing what these people do and say "OH YEAH ITS JUST THIS MUCH, SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT ONCE" vs actually finding a vendor that will do the work for you.

I'm not here to pick sides, but some of you guys need to realize how ignorant you sound and act when you jump all over someone trying to help the platform. He put the work in to bring a product he deserves to be paid for his work should someone purchase his product. If you don't like it, that's fine you don't have to buy it plain and simple. If it's not a good value for you, don't buy it. But one of these days, there's going to be a vendor that makes something you want or need and they aren't going to give you a dusting of help because of how up and coming vendors are treated.

What I'm hearing is that specific vendors get a pass for markups due to engineering, design iterations, and testing but others get flamed for the exact same thing. Seems pretty hypocritical.
Yes, complex designs and actually tested items get justification.

@GotGrip? Unproven, untested and Lee did the leg work on installation for that juicy juicy $25 discount of Aaron's actual money.

Comparing complexity of turbos or hpfp to a bracket with 4 holes, set distances and a 90 degree angle is really dumbing down the former. And again the GH IC is $799 the same as it has been.

If it's such a great deal then he would have actually sold some already lol. Look at all these customers flowing in to defend the product!

Wow, just wow. So your response did indeed clarify what gotgrip and I were saying regarding markups for engineering, testing, and design. It's ironic that it's only acceptable for certain vendors to make a profit or mark up products and anyone that isn't your preferred vendor catch's shade for trying to make platform improvements.

Oh, and the discount/freebee king taking a jab at what I offered Lee, that's rich.

They literally tried to give me a free iPhone 11. I said nope.
They also had buy1 get 1 iPhone 11.

This should tell you something about them.
Lmao
Also, ewww dirty Iphone users.... lol
Where's a dislike button when you need one...? :p

After talking with the wife since this thread started, I've changed directions to focusing on improving my brakes. I'm going to first start with bleeding them because I don't think I've done that since owning it almost 5 years and go from there. Researched last night upgrading to 2013+ booster/MC and I can see that being my next step, followed by either a 2013+ brake setup or Wilwoods. Now that I WFH since my office is officially closed, I'll be driving the kids to and from daycare more often and I really want this thing to stop on a dime when needed.

And it's crazy I'm the freebee king but wouldn't take your adapters. Guess I really only do accept sponsorships of products that are proven. I guess I can say at least I'm consistent.

OK, OK I can't resist. The talk of cheap design and R&D has to spill into the fanboyism of the third?fourth? Fifth party vendor andtony dicunnnzzzzzolo. Idk if that's his name or whatever but the mounts of thousand page hatemails which everyone remembers as the dead horse saga.

Those 50$ mounts that sell for 200+ but also given for free to some people. Hmmm tosses a zippo into 3000 tons of ammonium nitrate stored in a warehouse

My bad on the GHIC heard it went up to 890, guess I was mistaken. Aside from that, there are no "customers flowing in to defend the product". I don't actually own any of aarons products at this point. Comparing a "bracket with 4 holes" to the actual machining process of design to creation point truly shows how little you know about manufacturing. I have nothing against anyone here in this thread and I think at this point everyone is pretty much stuck in their way of thinking. As for the product being sold, I can't speak to how he markets or how many units have been sold, but I can tell you that you acting like a complete fool to deter customers from even looking probably doesn't help. Good on you for holding the record for the SHO platform and all, but that doesn't suddenly make you the end all be all of the platform. People will try new things and continue to do things out of the box to push the platform, and the people that stifle it much like you're doing, will be the ones who eventually ruin it for everyone else. A helping hand or maybe some encouragement or even realistic criticism for even trying to help community goes a lot farther than whatever the **** this thread is.

EDIT: I also understand that you have "sponsors" to fight for, so good on you for doing that and pushing those products but there are better ways.
