Ok folks I am less then impressed with my milage. And thats coming from a guy that was driving a 01 DTS a month ago. I'm only seeing a average of 16mpg and I am way more easier on the gas on SHO then was on my DTS. I am I alone? Will a tune help???

It's true that it is not that eco-energetic as advertized... However, maybe after a few months and miles, it will improve. Also, it is pretty heavy, so as soon as you accelerate especially if turbos are needed, you are doomed. On highways though, I run in line with what is advertized (in Canada we use liters per 100km) around 9l/100 km which I believe is around 26 but in town it goes to 15l/100km which is around 15-16mpg. Not too bad, i don't have a tune... yet, but I run 94 octane all the time. Since the car is new, I have heavy foot on the right pedal! lol By chance the exhaust is not loud, otherwise i would press the pedal even more just to hear the music of the exhaust... Future mod on the list for me!

I see about 19 avg in the SHO and about 17 avg in the Flex. I have a pretty heavy foot too

I commute about 35 miles mixed, but at night with light traffic. In the cold weather (30/40s) here I am getting 23 MPG with occasional bursts of throttle. I expect to hit that 25 MPG number when the temps go into the 70s and above.

My Brick has returned 19.9 MPG on last year's trip from FL to IA. And... we averaged 74 mph! This was with my smaller/much lighter tires that up my Axle ratio to around 3.40 too! Cold weather does hurt mileage though....

how the **** am i getting 33mpg highway everytime i drive to upstate NY to get groceries? sunoco 94 and whatever it is in the states at sunoco

i averaged 29mpg at 120km/h-130km/h driving to Washington DC on nothing but BP 93 (it was the cheapest gas due to the oil spill at the time. all my friends got mad at me for supporting them)


are you guys pushing the pedal more than a centimeter down while cruising along?
i keep refusing to post in these threads due to fear of people not believing me LOL
plus i think its safe to say i've been pulled over the most on this forum for speeding (what kind of 26 year old wants a taurus?)

they changed the name in Canada to Petro ultra 94, apparently sunoco thought the buy out name change would be more friendlier changing everything to petro canada

as for the cost it's not too bad since we rack up points fast, I usually save my points in the summer to have unlimited car washes during the winter months

I know here in the states different parts of the countries get different fuel mixture (additives, I assume) all winter I was averaging 21-22 mpg in local driving. Recently our fuel switched from winter to summer fuel and in the first partial tank my mileage is running between 24 to 25 mpg. I will get around 28 in local driving once all the winter fuel is out of the tank. I'm sure the different fuels make some of the mileage difference, and also I drive most of the time with an eye to fuel economy.

@unknown_driver I recently got right at 30MPG on an interstate trip, avg around 74mph. I posted that on the other MPG thread. I'm getting 19MPG between work/home in stop/go traffic. Oddly enough, this is city driving is returning the same exact MPG as my old 2003 Subaru, and beats the highway MPG by 3.

Just finished a 3800 mile road trip and averaged 25.5mpg overall. That's with crappy ethanol-extended fuel most of the way. One short highway leg in Texas (Abilene-Dallas) using 'real' gas, I averaged 29mpg. This is at 70-75mph.

10% ethanol mixed into your gas may drive food prices up along with gas prices, but at least it torches your mileage. Can't wait for the 15% stuff!
