Welcome

We have a pretty active local SHO club. You can check it out at www.nwshoc.org and sign up for the mailing list.

If you need any local support or advice, let us know.

thats good to hear... right now i am in the midst of putting in a new radiator and swapping my 93 ATX to a 95 ATX due to the better internals and planetary issues... that should be finished this weekend and then i'm just gonna go with a FPS tranny this summer...

We do have a 95 Red S/C car (Ivan the TerrorBull), and Kurt has a a 94 Green S/C car. There are quite a few heavily modded cars in the local club, so you should fit right in.

With a supercharger, you are going to need that beefed up FPS transmission.

I never supercharged an ATX, but if you have the kit, I can help install it. TexanTony definitely has more experience than I do in that area, so it will be something you have to decide.

oh you guys are runnin MTX's well shortly here i will be buying a 92 MTX so that might be something too... see i will be driving the Red Dragon out there lol and i might just have the 92 shipped... either or i haven't decided yet but even if i don't SC it i will still probably put the FPS in just because an FPS is the only thing that will hold up for a decent amount of time lol... but what SC kit do you have/recommend so i can start the pricing and things of that nature...thanks alot mike

We are running upgraded Vortech SHOshop kits on our cars. The FPS kit will work on an ATX, as will TexanTony's IIRC. THe SHOshop kit was MTX only, but could probably be modified if needed.

As for cars. Keep this in mind. Does your car have any rust? The cars out here are 99% rust free. We can take just about any part off a car without PB blaster. We can even remove our ABS sensors easily. If your car has spent any time at all in the salt belt, I would start with a west coast rust free model to build a superSHO. There are lots of nice cars to choose from out here, and you will not have to fight the rust every time you need to turn a wrench.

well we do salt roads here but it has only been driven in 1 or 2 winters tho 0therwise garaged...it shouldn't be that bad but who knows... i was planning on getting a mid mileaged SHO anyways so that would work... and it will definitely be MTX...

I was wondering if any one from this club is in my area, Sedro woolley wasington? I'm about an hour south of the canadian border and from What I see around here I'm a very lonely guy when it comes to sho's. the only people I see driving sho's around here are the elderly( nothing wrong with that but they drive the like a slo taurus) all I can say Is Help I'm lonely and I'm tired at everyone asking why I drive my grandma's car.

You have three active members just across the border in Vancouver BC area, and you also have a handfull of active club members in the Everett area.

SHOs are a lonely hobby sometimes, but you are not alone.

Check out www.nwshoc.org and sign up on the local email "mailing list". It is a good way to meet local SHO owners.
