Motor Mount Symptoms

i've been reading some of the recent posts on "what to look for when buying a SHO," and have noticed that one simple indicator of bad motor mounts is a "polished" area on the intake manifold. i bought a '94 MTX about 7 months ago with around 100k miles on it... i have a polished area on my intake, but i don't know if i have a mount problem... i don't hear any unusual bangs on take-off, nor do i notice any vibration from the engine... is there an easy way to tell if i have a mount problem? i'm thinking that it's possible that there may have been a mount replaced in the past, and hence i have no symptoms now (aside from the polished intake, which remains)...

any info would be appreciated...
