I need two items for my 1992 SHO. A front motor mount due to excessive engine rise on the front of the motor next to the battery. I also need a thermostat due to an engine that dones not warm up to operating temp. Are these the right parts? This info is from Autozone.com. Are these good prices? Also there is no gasket listed for the thermostat. Does it come with one? Do I need one? I just dont want to get her apart and realize I have the wrong parts or don't have everyhthing I need. SDPATT? As you can see there are several thermostat opions which is correct?

Do a search on "motor mounts", I think they can be found cheaper elsewhere, if you can wait for them to shipped to you. Maybe someone else can chime in who has purchased motor mounts recently with a company name. As for the thermostat, most people on this forum recommend the Motorcraft from Ford, although I purchased the $6.99 one from Autozone part #492-192, it looked exactly like the original even with the jiggler valve. The gasket for the thermostat can be purchased at Autozone and is usually in stock, Felpro 35278.

an autozone front motor mount is the incorrect mount for the sho, and they do not carry the correct mounts, be it front, rear, or tranny. Check advance auto parts/parts america, they have the correct mounts. You want the medium temperature thermostat for your car, due to the automatics coming with a 192, and the standard coming with a 180. Honestly I recommend getting the 20 dollar motorcraft t-stat, but whatever floats your boat. You will need to get a t-stat gasket from pepboys, advance auto may have it, autozone does not in my area.

as for the front motor mount.... what i have found is that even the pioneer listing is wrong...at least the one i feasted my eyes upon...

now... whether that mount was boxed wrong or not...i don't know.... but the pioneer LISTED number is 602791 which oddly enough claims to cross over from the 2791 anchor number.... gee who woulda guessed.... anyway from what i've seen...that is a WRONG listing...

HOWEVER!!!!

pioneer DOES correctly list the motor mounts for the rear and tranny mounts MTX as well as front and rear mounts for the ATX..... (tranny mount for the ATX is in current production per the pioneer rep i spoke with so it should be available first of next year)

for the front MTX mount..... i'd just bite the bullet and get the reinforced unit from shonut....mine's on its way wink

do you by any chance have the part numbers for the pioneer rear motor mount? I have a 601173 ( which superhighoutput.com lists as the right one ) and the bolts are *WAY* too far apart and at the wrong heights to attach to the engine. Looks correct at first glance though.

I'd love to, but im trying to get this thing back together quickly before the township yells at me for having it apart in the street ( clutch job ) and the only part i'm currently missing is the rear motor mount. I'm about to put the ripped one back in so i can get the reinforced. Any idea how much kirk wants for one ?
