More Tweecer (and ECC Analyzer) Help needed.

I have a C&L 73 MAF ... in ECC Analyzer its it ok to use the Mustangs C&L73 MAF curve?

And I need cam data for the +40 cams for the ecc analyzer. I can only input the first 4 fields.

Ive got my Tweecer RT to datalog. Any advice from the Tweecer and ECC Analyzer experienced? Maybe to make it idle better?

Does this have it? Not sure what the analyzer is asking for; if you need centerline info then I'm not sure where to find that...

If you're on stock injectors and a almost-stock MAF, raising the idle is probably about all you can do. I run 900 rpm on mine, but no A/C. I know Josh is running 1200-1300 RPM idle with the blower's extra load.

Adjustable sprockets may help a bit if you just advance the exhaust cam, but I don't know for sure (I've always run mine advanced by 3d (or is it 6? whatever the single increment is)). The global cam timing doesn't seem to affect idle smoothness at all, though it does impact the torque curve somewhat.

You can used what ever MAF curve matches for the MAF. Since the TwEECer was mainly designed for Mustangs, I'm sure that curve is in there.

As for cams, you don't need to mess with it. Last I looked, nothing pertained to us.

You can tune the injectors and MAF in order to get the computer to a closer tune. This way the computer will not need to lear much.

Ok ... i matched the MAF and the check engine light is off now. It was running really rich, im talking about eyes burning kind of rich. So i lowered the number to 20 on both the high and low on the injector slope. The car idle even much better but i know i need to adjust those numbers becuase it leans out when i rev it. Feels like its almost outa fuel ... so im not going to keep reving just did it once for testing. I gotta take it out in the street to do some real dataloging, but i have no drivers seat. Ill put it in today.

Any of you using ECC Analyzer? It seems very helpful. So what are the slopes for high and low? I have stock injectors. 19lbs? on a 94MTX

You can tune the injectors and MAF in order to get the computer to a closer tune. This way the computer will not need to lear much.

I know ECC Analyzer helps you to determine the correct values for the injector slope ... but how did you do it?

I guess i will schedule a tunning session at a local shop. There goes another 500 maybe even more.

You lowered both high and low slope injectors to 20? You're probabaly running rich, not lean. Lowering the injector slopes tells the computer you have a smaller injector and that it needs to hold the injector open longer to get right amount of fuel in. If you do this and are NOT running a smaller injector, you will run rich. How did you verify you are running lean? What injectors do you have? Pump? FPR? If you had to lower the injector slopes to make the car run right, something else is a miss.

The stock injectors for the SHO (assuming you are using them) are 24lbs for all MTX SHO's with the ATX's only marginally higher flowing. The EEC analyzer will greatly help you learn how to tune your injectors as well as be key to getting the MAF correct. Make sure you read all the help sections in the EEC A, especially injector slopes, MAF, Injector offset and such.

Don't waste your money... If you're going to do that, you might as well have purchased an LPM. Catch me on AIM and I can save you the $500.

I have stock injectors , 190 pump ,Shonut FPR set and 73MAF.

Im going to start again by reading the EEC and saving it to the first channel on tweecer and at the 73 maf settings. Ill run it on the street and send you the datalog. Ill see if i can install my AEM WB tonight too!

On CalEdit if the max listed rev on injector timing table is set to 6500 that means that it wont accelerate past that point even though i set the rev limit in the scalars to 7800?

I did not have a chance to look at it last night. I'll get to it by Friday since I have Friday off.

I'm not following what you are saying on the rev limiter. If you're trying to set the rev limiter higher, go to http://www.shonutperformance.com/indexhome.html and download "X2J.DAT" and follow the directions at the bottom of the page.

I reloaded the X2J.DAT and it made a big difference. The idle was a little high around 2K. But i readjusted the throttle plate and it cam back down. I have the Idle set at 1200 for Neutral ... should the value be the same for in gear idle?

I should finish installing my WB tonight to get a better idea on AFR.

Anybody else with +40 Cams? Any suggestions on tunning with these cams?
Maybe Josh T. can help with some input.

I took a look at your data log and fell asleep before sending you an e-mail back with a new program and explanation.

Your car is running pretty rich. Under constant rpm/load when cruising, your O2's were not even switching, just sitting at .80v indicating a rich condition. Eventually, your KAM values started dropping below 1 and just kept dropping indicating the computer is correcting for a rich condition. You may have the wrong curve in for your MAF causing this to happen. Just cruising, I bet you were 13:1 or richer.

As far as the cams, you'll tune it like a stock car. LATER, if you really want to get into a mess, you can adjust injector timing. I don't even have much experience with that.

I'll have an e-mail later on in the day for you. Remember when you data log, you want the car to see all different kinds of loads. Make sure your spiritedly driving it as well as cruising for at least 20 minutes. The helps with give the computer time to see everything. It is not completely necessary, but it helps.

I have scheduled a tune with AMS (Auto Motor Sports) in Arlington Heights, IL. They tune mostly Evo's but on there web site says they can tune pretty much anything, they have a list, and included is Ford ECC IV tunners ( http://www.automotosports.com/dyno_tune_01.asp )which i think its a plus! So 19th of august is when i go.
