ok, so ive been trying to tackle this problem for a little while now, and i think ive narrowed it down a little, but im still not sure exactly whats wrong. the problem is ive got slack in my clutch cable, and when depressed the clutch pedal wont come back to where it should be. anyone know what might be wrong?

have you tried pulling up on the clutch pedal?

If that doesnt help, it could be a worn clutch quadrent, or even a stretched cable.

also, check the linkage ontop of the tranny.

definately sounds like a broken quadrant, or auto adjuster

Like was mentioned, try lifting on the clutch pedal with around 10lbs of force. If that doesn't remove the slack in the cable you may have a quadrant issue or the spring that pulls the cable tight may have came off its mount or has broken, You can check this by looking on the back side of the clutch pedal the spring is in the U channel of the pedal. BTW if its off it is a MAJOR PITA to get back in its mounting hole. You can also temporally fix it by lifting up on the clutch pedal and pressing the bottom of the blue half moon shaped gear then releasing the pedal, it will stay like this until you pull up on the clutch.
