I was debating on getting a set of used sarc struts but with the miles I'm not sure its worth it. My question is will any strut that fits a 2000 taurus fit my 96. Rock auto has some kyb for the 2000 but only gabriels for the 96. Advance auto has some kyb listed but I can't tell if there the same as the ones on rock auto. They are both gr2s.
I'm trying to keep it decently priced as this wasn't On my list of things to do for awhile. I keep the sarc fuse pulled but I may put it back in. Atleast so the rears will be on. As far as springs should I stay with my stock springs until I have more money to find some better ones? Oh also moog inner tie rods or some realy cheap ones?

Rock auto I believe does but advance autos website never acts right on my android phone. So it was hard to tell. They may be different. but if any strut that fits a 2000 taurus will fit than rock autos are fine. Since they are a little cheaper to.

Now two questions would kyb struts be the better bet over monroe sensa stracs for an all around better handling car. With sarcs in the rear still. And if you have regular struts in the front or any spot since the sensor isn't hooked up will that throw a check engine light?

The only question I can answer is the sensor. No it will not throw a code or do anything to the car.

I have KONI struts on all 4 corners.

Thanks I didn't think it would but it never hurts to ask. Just curious where did you get your konis from?

There are actually plenty of full sets of SARCs left in the Ford dealership inventory. The reason people are having trouble locating them is because the part numbers have changed. And the total cost for a full set will run around 1K.

I work at a ford dealership. And we checked and we can get all of them but at about 250 a peice ill wait till I have 1000 bucks to throw at my suspension. For now I'm going with some sensatracs for a 2000 taurus

Can you get a discount? My parts guy can usually get me by with a little bit off the price but the dealership system has changed. They no longer like to get rid of their inventory like they used to and if they do, it's usually to a second tier parts house that buys in volume.

Group buy?

I only need 3 of them as I lucked out and picked up a new SACH's left rear SARC strut off Ebay for $100.00.

I'm not sure what kind of leeway they would give me. I would have to check and see how much my dicount is on those. I believe when I checked it wasn't much but I wasn't paying much attention. Ill have to check and see what our cost is.

Yeah do that. I'm sure if the cost could come down because of a group buy, maybe more here would be willing to buy them.

there are some early failures with aftermarket struts. Kyb in particular. I put in sensatracs and wish I didn't. Look at some old threads and look for 2002 oem taurus struts. I wish I would have used these when I replaced mine.

I like those motorcrafts for the 01 but they are more expensive I may check my cost at work Tuesday. But money is tight so I may still go with the sensatracs. I'm just trying to get ahold of some inner tie rods. It seems that no one has any in stock. I don't want to pay 40 a peice for them. I may be able to get a set from napa they usally can get parts pretty fast
