I figured I repost this here for the folks who don't subscribe to the V8 SHO mailing list.

went to the local track today since the weather was good and cool (7-9C or 44-48F). I beat my old personal best. I did every run with the exhaust cut-out open all the way. I also had the spare tire and jack removed as well as the rear seat. Pretty much the same as my old times except I now have the cut-out and the front passenger seat was pulled for the previous runs. All runs were done by manual shifting the 2-3 shift (holding it to close to 7000 rpm). The one run that I let the car shift itself was a bit slower (15.1@ 90). Here's the slips:

.693 xxxxx 9.729 73.891 15.078 91.611
.561 2.269 9.735 73.975 15.141 90.717
.671 xxxxx 9.710 73.998 15.059 91.725
.619 xxxxx 9.702 73.989 15.033 92.004
.650 xxxxx xxxxx 74.668 14.949 92.783
.789 2.267 9.692 73.958 15.024 92.041
.555 2.253 xxxxx 74.496 14.967 91.868
.469 2.255 9.651 74.236 14.966 92.216

On the 7th run, the car was too cool and the tranny didn't shift fast enough and hit the rev-limiter briefly on the 1-2 and the 2-3 shift (keep in mind that I manually shift only the 2-3 shift).

I also used the new Accel blue air filter (panel not a cone) that Kirk was kind enough to supply me with at the convention. Aside from that and the electric exhaust cut-out those were the only mods I have on the car. If you want to count the rear seat removed as a mod go ahead. Also I've got the taller than stock 60 profile tires on that seem to hurt the 60' times slightly.

Nice times, Ian. I only ran mine once, back when I first got it and shortly after having done the mod porter thing, and got a 15.1. But it was also in cool weather, which I really think is probably the most important aspect in getting the times down, from what the more knowledgeable people tell me. I had the spare and jack out also, but nothing else. And I am pretty light, at about 146 pounds this time of year. :)

I wish I was that light. I could have had a 14.8 if I was that light.
