You can manually crank the sunroof closed. But you need an old school window crank, and you must remove the sunroof console.

Pretty self explainatory after that :D

Or if your switch broke (which is the usual case) take down the box with the switch in it and take a pliers and turn one of the little nobs on either side of the switch forwards or backwards to shut the moonroof until you can fix it.

Take out the little button in the console so you can see up in it to release the box, if you do.

Isn't there a way to stick a tool in there to manual turn the mechanism??

I thought there is a way to do it without removing the whole box. But my SHO isn't parked nearby, and it's been awhile since I've messed with the moonroof.

I thought (but still I'm not sure) that if you removed that ugly little round cover that you could turn the mechanism with a screwdriver or socket?

Of course it'd be a LOT easier once the cover is removed... :thumb:

I have seen some overhead consoles with about a 1" diameter access hole to manually crank the sunroof closed...some consoles don't have this hole though  I don't know if it's random or year-related or what. I have a 91 console here that does have it, but i don't think any of my 90's had it, nor my 93 :bonk:
