Just got my 95 MTX and the PO put new Monroe Quick Struts on the front. The back struts are fine but the springs are sagging with only 73k on it. I was wondering if I go with a full set of Moog CC springs, is there anything stopping me from swapping the Moogs onto the Quick Struts?

Ignore warmonger and thegovernor9912.

You'll have to remove the strut assembly, compress the spring, and remove the nut from the top of the strut. Replace the old springs with new, and reassemble and reinstall.

What he said. But I would recommend the soaking of the pinch bolts and some heat. When I did the suspension upgrade on my car I was calling it every name but an sho cause the pinch bolt snapped off 3/4 way out. Man I was ******

Thanks for the heads up! No I did not do the front suspension myself as they were JUST done by the previous owner. I literally just bought the car Saturday and am getting ready to dump some money into it to get it to where I'm happy with it (it'll take quite some time AND money to get there) but luckily it only has 73k on it!

Quickstruts come with springs and mounts on them. If they were just put on, I doubt the springs are sagging.

I have found the secret to successfully getting the pinch bolts out is to back them out as far as they want to go, then back in until nearly tight, then back out as far as they want to go. in this way, a lot of the rust that has accumulated can find its way out, so that after several back and forth operations they will eventually come out. I haven't broken one yet.... And, liberal applications of PB Blaster will make this all possible.

If you read the initial post it says the quickstruts are on the FRONT and the REARS are sagging. I am wanting to replace all 4 springs with Moog CCs so I can lower it just a bit. I do not want to purchase new struts for the fronts if I do not have to seeing as they are new. I will purchase new ones for the rear since I will be swapping the springs out. Thank you for all of the advice on the pinch bolts...never would've guessed! :munch:

Are the quick struts essentially sensa-tracs?

Your post is misleading because you talk about new Quickstruts and putting new springs on them.

Now that I know what you're asking, yes Quickstruts use SensaTracs. Nothing wrong with Moog springs on the Quickstruts, or on new rear SensaTracs. The pinch bolts can be a pain, but take your time and you won't have any issues.
