The flywheel includes the steel insert as an aluminum surface is not good for a flywheel. THe option is there for if you need to replace it after a few clutch changes.

The SouthBend Stage 1 is a good Clutch. I do like my Clutch Masters Stage 1 but some have a had problems in the past.

The stage 1 clutches have the reinforced straps which tend to brake on the stock clutch. By upgrading it will give you a much more reliable and long lasting clutch.

It is an aluminum flywheel with a seel insert(where it makes contact). If you are going to pull the motor, do a 3.2 with 3.0 cams. It may not feel like a lot, but as you add more mods the difference will grow. 3.0 w/y-pipe,BBB,MAF<3.2w/y-pipe,BBB,MAF.

THERE AINT NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT!

that steel insert option is just for the insert or if you want steel instead of aluminum on the flywheel?

The aluminum flywheel already comes with the steel insert. The insert option for years later when you need to replace the insert.

Personally I would go for the 17lb flywheel as I find the 8lb revs quite fast but it is up to you as what you want.

sho source 8lb aluminum flywheel FTW

make sure your clutch is upgraded because I'm sure it puts more force to the clutch when you try to get it moving, you manipulate the throttle differently and the clutch pedal.... probably what broke my pressure plate when I think about it

its not hard to drive, just different, you will pick it up after a couple times of driving it
