I talked to Adam at Mobsteel and they are going to sell the grill aftermarket, as well as the ECU programming they used that gave them 90+ HP

So....... Any word on that grill??? :munch:

Mobsteel doesn't seem to be too quick to answer emails.....

I shot a few emails back -n- forth (each were answered) and then I also spoke over the phone with Adam Genei.

He said that initially they weren't sure about continuing on the fabrication of this grille. He continued stating that they were experiencing issues with some of the "tabs" where the mounting points would attach in the same spots where the OEM mounting points are located.

He added that as a company, they weren't seeing the level of interest they thought necessary in order to recoup the costs involved in fabricating the grille.

When I continued my conversation with him, and advised him of the level of interest in this forum alone, I assured him that there was in fact many people anticipating this grille, including myself.

We ended the conversation with him claiming they were going to reverse course and continue with the development of it.

That was approximately 2 weeks ago, or the 2nd week of August (2010).

All I can suggest is that you, and anyone else interested in this product specifically, telephone Adam Genei yourself and let him know.

Additional calls from prospective buyers will reassure him of the level of interest in the grille and will certainly keep the fabricating wheels a roll'n.

Please, for those that do call, post up, and let us know what is said to you.

Thanks! ------------Mike

Just spoke to Adam. Definitely a great guy.

He said he's moving as fast as he can on getting this grill ready. Best case would be a couple weeks he said but we'll see.

I asked about the mobsteel logo and if I understood him correctly, the grille will not come with it. I hope it doesnt simply because I want to put SHO in the bottom right corner vs. mobsteel.

I also asked him about the bottom grill and he said they're looking into some options for that as well. I figure if you do the top grille and it has the mesh, you're gonna want to do the bottom one as well.

He said to check back in with him in a few weeks to see what they've got going on but he said they're still moving forward with it.

I'm looking forward to putting this sick lookin grill on my SHO!

Thx for the heads up bpd

Great news guys! Thx for following up with Adam at Mobsteel. Being in Canada makes it a little harder for me so I've been sending emails with no response to any (still??)
I hope that I can get my hands on one and that they will ship up north but at least I know that they are going forward with making them.

How is that yuck? Replace mobsteel w/ SHO in the bottom right and you have a dead sexy grill. As of right now the avg person cant tell the difference between our SHOs and the SELs

I love the upper grill. I'm just not sure how I would want the lower to look. Just a wide open space like the upper, or should it have something to break it up like the oem grill? These guys are like 30 minutes from me. Maybe I should swing by and borrow their grill ;)

My plan is to take the Taurus badge off the back. Order a new SHO badge without ecoboost on it to replace the existing one. Black out the chrome on the sides and possibly the tailights, replace the grill on the front with the above grill but have a SHO badge on the bottom right. (hopefully replace the lower grill to match the top minus the badge) Then get my vanity plates. Hopefully I can get SHO.

Think it should turn out pretty sick. I just hate seeing SELs that look like my car.

***UPDATE***UPDATE***

Did a lil follow up work (both phone calls and email) to my contact (Adam Genei) over at Mobsteel and for those of you who may be interested in this grille set up still, here's a copy of the email reply I received on Monday November 1st, 2010 at 12:45pm from Mr. Genei himself :

"Upper and lowers are done, parts are sitting in my office awaiting my
return from sema. I anticipate we will be ready to price and ship the
week we get back. (next week). Thanks for all the patients. please
let the rest of the sho folks that are interested they are done.

I will hit you up with pics , pricing, etc....

Adam"

Thank you sooooo much for all your hard work following up with Mobsteel on this. I can't wait for this grille!!! :dribble:

Nope. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Nothing.

I have also not recv'd any responses since the last time I updated this thread.

Not good if you ask me......... but I'll tell ya, the longer Mobsteel waits to release their grille, the closer it gets to FORD releasing the SHO PI and I'll rock that grille instead.

Mobsteel's gonna miss out on a whole crap load of purchases when that occurs.

Unfortunate for then IMHO. None of us should have to chase down vendors. A lot of us have expressed interest. I'm sure if they chose to, and wanted me, or anyone else to start up a group buy type of thing and place a deposit down, we would've.....

But repeatedly not answering potential customers emails, phone calls, etc etc is just not good business. I could fk'n careless how well their car placed at SEMA. If you're not gonna appeal to the aftermarket business out there, wtf's the point?

Rant over.

Yikes. It appears that this topic gets your blood boiling. :madflame: I hear you though, there are many of us that have been waiting for this grille for awhile now. I've even considered going with the T-Rex grille powdercoated black, however I've heard that the installation on that piece is a PITA....
I've always hated the factory grille on this car and I just want to get my hands on something to make it look better.
For what it's worth, thank you for all the work and follow-up that you did with Mobsteel. I for one really appreciated it :thankyou:

The first vendor to get a real grill out there and not the t-rex junk is going to get a lot of business. Anyone have an idea of how much this is going to cost? I really hope the company who finally makes one will also make a matching lower grill. I hate the lower grill more than the upper one.

I'm also liking the pi grill. It doesnt look like it has the indentation in the grill where the emblem goes, but it's probably just a prototype. Im sure the real one will have the spot for it.

ya know, I'd been contemplating changing the grill but since the car arrived I'm beginning to dig it more with the factory one. . .

Not that I'm bragging, but since I saw the u guys talking about the Police Intercepter grille I thought I'd add my 2 cents. My plant won't start running the PI for a while and I promise u, I will have the 1st 1! Lol Just saying
