I'll just cut to the chase and say that my friggin car was on fire, and now I need parts. I got a '92 mtx wiring harness from someone, and I found out today that a lot of the smaller connectors on the harness are different, all in the same place and everything, but the ends are different. So I guess this means that I'm gonna need specifically a '94 MTX harness. I also need power steering lines and the rear side o2 sensor.

needed:

'94 specific engine wiring harness w/ fuel injector harness part
rear side o2 sensor
power steering lines (the ones that are attached to the reservoir at one end)
(possibly) passenger side axle shaft w/ CV boot

Lemme know what you all have so I can get this steamy pile back on the road. Thanks for reading and at least attempting to help a fellow SHOwner out. -Steve

steve, you got all the other sensors and stuff like the coil pack, etc from me as well, that will fit the harness you have. why dosent the shop use all that stuff?

^ I was just thinking, I'm gonna go back in there and point that out to them sometime this week. I figured if it doesn't work out for some odd reason, which it should, I can get some '94 parts lined up.

I'm with you, I dont understand what is different either Steve you should have the shop tell you exactly what they think is different. I think the keyway on the coilpack may be different, (even though the coil itself is the same, if you shave off the keyway it works just the same) and the alt plug may be different. other than that I really dont know what would be different.

Yeah I guess my main problem is that I don't like going in there and second guessing what they're telling me, but I agree with you anyways. You gave me all the '92 sensors so it should practically be converted to a '92 under the hood electrically, if it even was that different in the first place.

the wiring on all first gens is different. 90-91 may even be different from 89s. but i know for a fact the first gen wiring is different. mainly in the way it connects to the rest of the car's harness.

Some also have EGR on them if it was from CA, which is good for atleast 1 extra plug and maybe other differences?
