I don't know how to actually explain it, at around 35 to 40mph it seems like i'm getting misfires. I press the throttle and it takes a second for the revs to pick up. any help will be appreciated

I have the same problem in my 93 atx. I dont know exactly what it is but I think it might have something to do with the overdrive on the trans...i could be wrong though. I replaced my plugs and wires and it still did the same thing after, so im pretty sure your problem is not the plugs/wires. You might also want to check your fuel pump.

I don't believe that you used valid logic to arrive at your conclusion. YOUR problem is probably not the plugs and wires, but it doesn't have any effect on his condition. The main cause of misfires on the SHO engine is the secondary ignition system: plugs and wires. These should be the first items to check.

I just had my fuel pump done two days ago. made a big difference in throttle response. but still seems like it misfires going into overdrive. oil in the plug wells would cause such an annoyance?

Well today I took off a a couple of spark plug boots and what do i find? oil... a decent amount of oil. enough to make a happy sho owner not so happy. i know it's been talked about before but. how easy is it to fix this? have to take off the intake manifold, valve covers? do i go to a local part store and pick up spark plug seals?

You can get the plug wells seals and the valve cover gaskets (seals) in the Fel-Pro VS59378R set from AutoZone or O'Reilly. It is usually a 2-3 day order.

You will have to remove the intake and valve covers to replace these seals. Might as well plan on the valve gapping job if possible.
