i've replaced the fuel rail wiring harness, the DIS, AND the coil pack, and it still misses and barely starts

my last option is the cam sensor

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the IAB (Idle/Air Bypass Valve). But the tachs jumping would indeed be the direct result of a failing cam sensor or DIS.

the cam sensor was just replaced, the IAB was replaced, the crank position sensor was replaced, the fuel rail wiring harness was replaced, the PCM was replaced, the main wiring harness was replaced, the coil pack was replaced, the DIS was replaced, the MAF was replaced, the plugs were replaced, and the wires were replaced

i'm at a loss now...
could it really be that a crank sensor went after only 2 miles?!?

replaced, and improved, only slightly
seems to fire when it shouldn't... once it atarts it dies
the fuseable links are good, and the gen II starter still bench-tests okay...(gen II starter on the gen I)

KOEO test shows 11 and 11 only now...
cannot do running test - will not start

***car has no spark what-so-ever

any other ideas or suggestions?

it turned out to be a lot of bad grounds (some were added and some replaced)
and also the crank sensor was "not properly" gapped

try cleaning all the grounds and possibly replacing some
also, if your crank sensor was replaced at all recently, you may want to make sure it is gapped correctly

It did turn out to be a bad ground. It looks like the ground wire to the ignition module had some resistance as it had floated up to between 4 and 5 volts. The rapid strobe on the timing light seems to be a bad inductive pickup of the light itself but cleaning the ground connections cleared up the misfires.
