Hey guys so I plan on buying the cat back corsa exhaust and the livernois downpipes. I know the check engine light will be on cause Im gonna remove the cats. Does anyone know a way to keep the check engine light off, or "tricked" to being off? I know of MIL eliminators but dont know if these are an option for the SHOs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Livernois can tune the rear O2 sensors off. That will solve the problem. The front O2 sensors are needed but won't throw a code because the are ahead of where the cats would be. When you put the pipes in just screw all four sensors back in. Remember to twist the wires backwards before you put them in the pipes. Then when you screw them in, they will straighten out and not bind up.

I see you are located in craptastic IL like me.

Be forewarned, that simply programming off the Rear O2's, although will prevent the CEL from illuminating, you will still FAIL IL Emissions, as those sensors need to be showing in a "ready" status.

I do believe there are vendors our there, including LMS, that are now selling emission compliant catted downpipes.

Might want to tell your pal to keep what he"s selling 'ya.

Thanks for the response dude. Yah you got to love Illinois. Hmm yah i was hoping that when i got the livernois stage 3 tune it would allow my monitors to be ready. Unfortunately if there is no possible way to pass emissions with those on Ill have to swap back to stock when the time comes lol. I dont mind cause I have a shop but looking for an alternative to extra work.

Most, if not all, vendors doing (catted) downpipes now, are emissions compliant.

If you're looking for less work down the road, from having to swap out, every couple of years, then I will reiterate my original suggestion, that is, telling your friend thanks but no thanks..... And then purchasing a newer set of catted downpipes from any vendor you choose.
