Very true. I guess if people really want others to recognize where they're from for the purposes of organizing events, etc. will put a real location in their profile. There's nothing I can do really to enforce that people use real locations. Well...I could, but I don't really want to.

I'm not sure what the member name is either but you might check the carbon fiber hood group buy thread. He may have posted there. Or not, but it would be a good place to start looking.

I hope conditions get better out there soon. I've been thinking about all our members in those areas a good bit.

Yep. Put the state name in the "Location" box.

P.S. You doing ok out there in Cali?

I am doing ok. I'm at least half and hour or more from any fires. It hasn't effected us at all except that the sky is a bit dimmed and feel alot hotter that it should be. Matt W. is ready to evacuate since the fires actually in his city. Thanks for asking.

That's exactly what I am trying to do. There are alot of SHOForum members in the LA area who aren't registed on SHOCal and i just wanted to send them *** inviting them to our meets. That's all.

I don't really need to know their specific location. Just something to help filter things.
Perhaps u can add another line undereneith location that just says "State?"

That's not an option I can modifiy without a lot of code work. The location was meant for users to put their state location in but many users don't do that. I will see what I can do, but there are other issues I'd have to contend with. We have a lot of members from Canada for instance, I would have to add something to account for them as well as our members who are over in Germany, Italy, Japan, etc. etc.

I'll do what I can. That's about the best I can offer.

I modified the code yesterday evening. In your profile you'll now see that it reads "State or Province" where it used to say "Location". It might not make any difference but at least people will know that it's meant for the input of state or province. I'm looking into having drop boxes for new registrations where it will have the state/province abbreviations instead and that will be all that is allowed. That will replace the text box that people can fill in whatever they want to be there. It will also be a required field for new registrations. I'm not sure how that will affect already registered members so I have to figure that out as well before I institute any changes. :thumb:
