Any new thoughts on the coil-overs? Did you soften the dampers any more? Can the ride be made to be softer/smoother than stock? I'm wanting to do this to my MKS and wouldn't mind a touch smoother ride as I spend most of my time on the highway. I also want to lower it a little, but not as low as most springs provide and this is the only real option worth it IMO due to the adjustability. Also, where are the pictures of how your car sits :waiting:

AS REQUESTED.....Here's the pics of the car after installing the Megan coilovers, PowerStop drilled/slotted rotors and Z23 pads, blacking out the chrome trim and wheels with Plasti-Dip, de-badging, and smoking the head and tail lights with LaminX (Tint on headlights and Gunsmoke on the tails). Hope you like the pics Sorry for the delay, flying schedule has been hectic.

The coilovers will most assuredly NOT soften the ride....quite the contrary. Even at lowest (softest ride) setting, the ride is considerably stiffer; but that's the whole point of the coilovers. The car handles 100% better, but at the expense of some "cushiness". I also have to be much more mindful of dips, rough RR crossings, potholes, etc. the lowered stance reduces suspension travel for obvious reasons, and hitting any of the above too fast or at a bad angle will result in a bone jarring thump as the shocks bottom out. OUCH! Still worth the VAST improvement in handling. If you're looking for comfort but better handling, I'd probably look at Monroe severe duty struts and shocks, not coilovers. The new brakes are absolutely amazing, and saved me from an otherwise certain deer strike just yesterday. Rocking along at 90 a deer appeared out of nowhere, and the impressive grip of the PowerStops had enough bite to get it stopped with room to spare. I'm quite sure the stock hardware wouldn't have done the job.

Again, sorry for the delay on the pic's, and I will make an effort to get the pics and post of the install up soon. Cheers!

Love the look, LOVE the color :D Nice review of results. The coilovers ARE a commitment. Now if you got the SHO corner balanced, you could go autoXing for more thrills than canyon carving LOL.

Thanks Manu! I've actually done some casual exploring of corner balancing the car, but going to hold off going down THAT rabbit hole till this is no longer my DD. I flog the old girl hard enough as is LOL.

Update....I've put about 8k on since installing the coilovers. The difference in handling is remarkable. She used to roll and wallow in aggressive maneuvering, now corners absolutely FLAT. The ride is NOT for those desiring cushy comfort or those with bad hemarroids LOL! It is FIRM, and I feel every pebble it seems. The biggest drawback is the spring rate is really not designed to absorb common street bumps. What would have been a little bump with stock suspension is now a sometimes bone jarring, spring bottoming crash. I've actually stopped a couple of times to make sure there was no damage to the coilovers after particularly bad jolts. These are really made for the track environment and not streets, so I've become hyper vigilant in assessing condition of the road ahead. I'm also going to reset for maximum damping and see if that doesn't help, currently set to mid range. All that said, I wouldn't for a minute consider going back to stock suspension. The coilovers make this a completely different beast. I may also raise the perches a bit to see if it makes any difference. Stay tuned!

Thanks Citationdoc.
- That was a very well done and informative review of the Megan coilovers and now I know without any doubt, they are not for me and my SHO. I have enough vehicles that ride like a log truck. I may go the spring route, it would be a decent compromise and all I really need. Have a great day.

Soooooooo....
After a 4 day journey installing the Megan coilovers, PowerStop drilled/slotted rotors, AND replacing the front hub/bearings; I finally finished. While it's definitely NOT a job for the timid, it really is within the ability of those who are mechanically inclined with decent tools. Initial test drive was IMPRESSIVE! The car now corners nearly flat instead of the rather pronounced body roll when cornering. I set damping right in the middle (level 8) and now feel every little pebble LOL. Might be setting a little softer. Tomorrow will tweak the ride height, but was pleasantly surprised that my best guess turned out to be almost right where I wanted! Go figure. Goes in for alignment tomorrow. The PowerStops are incredible. I'll be posting a full installation documentation with pics in the next few days.
God Speeds on MONO SS coil overs on my 2010 are working well now that I have them tuned. The come with 6kg/mm front springs and 14kg/mm rear springs. Ride height is a one finger gap between fender and tire. Street driving was bottoming too much on the fronts. I am also running 275 40 20's, which are heavier tires. So, got some 10kg/mm 200mm long springs from God Speed Project and got them for 100 bucks. Made a HUGE improvement on ride, handling and no more bottoming. Just an FYI to save someone else the torture of bottoming out. Poly Urethane sub frame bushings also made the car hold the line way better at high speed too. Whiteline sells a Mustang set that'll fit the SHO pretty well.
