Hey guys,

I recently noticed that my brakes were not kicking in until late (the brake is almost floored). It doesn't feel like it's pulling to one side, I don't hear any abnormal noises coming from the wheels, and I havn't seen any leaking fluids.

Is this probably a problem with the master cylinder? Do tauri typically have problems with the master cylinders? Could this be anything else? Anything else I left out?

Thanks

When sitting at a stop light with your foot on the brake - depress the pedal harder than normal, and then release the extra pressure a little bit, the pedal should come back with a hydralic feeling (yeah - great explanation). If it doesn't come back that means the high pressure is beeling off somewhere (i.e. master cylinder failure) and would need replaced.

I recently replaced the master cylinder on my car, not too hard, just a REAL PITA with the hose that runs brake fluid down to the ABS and trying to bench bleed and finding a cap for the nippe on the fluid resivoir because well it isn't connected to the ABS to dump brake fluid into <- this is only if you have ABS. Other than that, it is pretty straight forward replacement!

thanks.

I replaced the master cylinder but it did not fix the problem. I do have ABS. Could it be something with that?

I took it to Autotire and they fixed it for $50. It was just some air on the system...although the master cylinder probably needed to be replaced anyway.

Did they bleed the ABS System to correct the problem, or just bleed the brakes at all 4 wheels? If they just bleed the brakes, did they pressure bleed them?

I'm not exactly sure what the bled. All I know is that they said, "We got the air out of your brakes and you now have a brake" or something along those lines.
