MAP sensor programmimg?

I was told by Sergio that most map sensors that aree sold in your local part stores are crappy. So I was wondering where could I purchase oem?

well if you've been following any of my threads, especially the last one, you'll see that my car has lost of power. I had a mechanic come and look at it and he said what I thought it would be too, he said it sounds like the map sensor. I told him that I just put that in and he said it might not be the right programmimg. So that/s why i'm posting this, hence the subject of this thread.

Ford uses MAF sensors, which is what your mechanic friend is reffering to, not MAP sensors. IF you put in a larger aftermarket MAF, most of those, like the lincoln 80 mm, need a custom tune. Either spend the money on tweecer tuner, or put the stock MAF back in before you blow your motor, as it will be running far too lean.

I didn't put a larger MAF sensor in just another map sensor from o'reilly. And where can I check out tweecer's tuner at?

The car does not use a MAP sensor. MAP sensors are usually used for speed density systems. The car does use a BAP sensor, which is pretty much the same sensor just vented to atmosphere instead of to manifold pressure. It's usually mounted on the firewall.

The BAP sensor used to be blamed for random drivability problems but really doesn't go bad too often. It generates a frequency based on the barometric pressure.

Ok. Thanks for clarifying that Ruso. It's the MAF sensor, which is the last pictures. That's what I changed because I thought it was faulty.

You need to use an OEM Ford SHO 55 mm MAF; aftermarket onjes wont just bolt on and work, and unless your engine is highly modded, the stock MAF will work best. IF you still have the old one, it may just need to have the filament cleaned with electronics cleaner, as they rarely go bad. WHy did you think it was bad ?

Because it was having little to know power. If you look at my other threads you would see what all I been through.

+1 on the cleaning.
I have a K&N filter, and I need to clean my MAF at least once every summer. Oil from the filter get stuck onto the filament of the sensor. It does make a difference.
