manual shifter linkage

does anyone have a diagram of the shifter linkage for a manual transmission...i took the shifter linkage off and when i tried to put it back together there seems to be a bushing or something missing but i cant figure out what it is called to get it from the dealership

You can`t get the parts seperately from the dealer.The rod shifter assembly is all one unit,you`ll have to get inventive with the part you need.

I'm assuming that you don't have a rod shifter and you have the cable shifter. What year is the car? If it's the cable shifter, mine came with a bushing from the previous owner and it hasn't failed and fitted perfectly. That part there is unavailable from Ford too.

well, seems that the part was there after-all, in the bottom of the parts bucket, it got out of the baggy we had for shifter linkage parts :\...at least we tried to be organized :p

there is a guy on the SHOtimes mailing list that had a bunch of "discontinued" cable shifter bushings or something machined up outta teflon or something like that. He was talkign about it in the last 1-2 months, so if one were to look at the thread archives it should be there.

Hopefully this might help anyone in the future that might neet to replace that/those parts for a cable shifter.
