I'll go by saying I don't have any cooling problem. I do want to add a manual fan switch to my SHO. The main reason being I want to have the ability to turn my fan on whenever I want. My Formula has one which is great! I had many reasons for adding it. Anyone currently using one or has in the past? I'de like it to be a stand alone switch, using it's own relay and wiring. Diagrams or pm's would be great! Thanks...

There used to be diagrams around the forum one time a search may show it up. The relay to fire the fan is in the IRCM its under the cover by the fan. You just need to find out what wire fires the fan relay in there. Splice into it so you can power it with your switch, might be a good idea to use a diode so you don't back feed the cars computer with your manual switch.

I have one on my G3. On it you just ground the CCRM high speed fan coil and it will turn on the fan.

Not sure on the G1s though. You may have to apply 12v to the coil at the CCRM. I would turn on the AC, which should turn on the fan, and see if there is 12V at the LG/P wire at the CCRM. If the fan is running and there is not 12V then the wire is probably grounded to turn on the relay. You could check for this with an ohm meter.

I bought a package at advanced auto that has all the wiring and relays for a fanswitch. It allows you to set the temp ur fan will turn on with a temp sensor. I paid like 30 bucks.

Check out the electronics section; one of the stickies has all the diagrams you need. it's got the words ICRM or CCRM in the title.

Yeah I have one on mine, I forget the color of the wires you splice into comming out of the fan, then you just follow the diagram that comes with the relay. Oh and just FYI I melted a 30amp relay so I had to order a 60amp off ebay. I was running the high speed fan our cars have a high and low speed.

I had one of those adjustable switches. But switching the ground for the high speed fan coil in the CCRM is no big amp draw at all. And I ran it though a switch so it could be manually over ridden.

The fan circuit in my CCRM is dead the fan wont turn on and D code CCRM's are fun to find. Mine is run off the battery with a relay inbetween and a switch inside the car. I made my own circuit so the fan is no longer part of the car wiring. The 30amp relay that I was using couldnt handle the load of the high speed fan and it over heated the relay and it was sticking so I had to go with the 60 amp relay. I thought the 30amp would be able to handle the fan but it couldnt.

I work at Advance Auto and have been thinking about buying the kit you describe. I believe I'll need a 60A relay..the consensus doesn't recommend it.
