I would have to say check the secondaries. If it wasnt getting vaccum it wouldnt close and they would be open all the time.

To test, leave the car running. Stand over the car and use the throttle body to rev the motor past 4K and watch to see if the post on the secondaries move. if they do not. they arnt getting vaccum.

well the PCM thinks the IMRC is stuck open on the lower intake manifold. Which may be the case if the butterflies are gummed/carboned up (mine were extremely nasty when I took it apart to do the cam weld after only 33k miles).

Take the engine appearence cover off and run the engine up to about 3k rpms and let it off quickly, you should see the IMRC control cable open and close briefly ( the IMRC control is that small square box on the front cam cover) make sure the electricial connection to it is secure also. the control cable runs up under the throttle body and actuates the butterflies on the lower intake manifold.

Not sure how many miles you have on the unit but a thorough intake cleaning (upper/lower and surge tank) in probably in order. if they arent gummed up my guess is the IMRC controller is failing for some reason.

This car has currently 139K on and it runs great. I love it and I anything I can do to keep it running like she is what I want.
Thanks for the info and from what I read, this doesn't sound hard to fix or manualy check either.... Any other suggestions are welcomed.. Have a good day..
