Manifold CLeaning

Any recomendations when cleaning out the manifold as it should be off the car tomm afternoon. I have to prep to paint it but the most important thing is getting everything out of it that I can so any recomendations would be great. I can post pics of the progress from when I get the manifold off to when its ready to go in. Thanks for your time.

15 cans of carb cleaner and a lot of time. If you can find Berrymans B12 in an aerosol that would work well too. Berrymans also makes it in a can like Seafoam, but that would be more work. Also, something about its ingredients making you grow a third arm with cancer.

Along with the 15 cans, If its EGR remove the plugs by the egr valve and clean out those ports. Mine where almost plugged shut with carbon. Check all the rubber runner connectors for cracks, so your not chasing a vacuum leak later. Dont forget the di-electric compound on the back of the DIS module. Theres alot of things that can be done with the intake off. What are your plans?

Great advice. I used a flexable round brush (cylinder shaped) to scrub the inside of the runners. I also believe that it is recommended to use Heat Sink on the back of the DIS instead of di-electric. Something about the di-electric can cause the DIS to get to hot and die on you.

Same stuff, Napa sells it and they call it Di-electric silicone compound. aka heat sink compound. Its white and *****, everyone has a different name for it. I was just saying so that he doesnt forget to put it on.
