How can I make my stock exhaust louder? Besides installing a new system. Is there any dampeners I can remove?

Please, no methods that may lead to mechanical damage to the car.

Install a catless off-road pipe, that will change the sound. Better or worse depends on personal preference. My wife hates the new tone, but the 14 tear-old thinks it is "Honda Cool".

(probably best to keep these cool sounds off-road )

Catless Y would be great, but I share in the poor mans pain.....I too own an ATX.

I can't find one for an ATX.

New mufflers are fairly cheap and can be welded to your stock exhaust. Anything that is "straight through" will definitely make it louder.

When i bought my car god...5 months ago...it was pretty damn loud. It had an exhaust leak for a while, there was nothing left of my donut gasket.

It might be alright if you just want "loud". Unfortunately, I thought it sounded like ****. I think sounding good is more important than sounding loud.

So now, with the exhaust leak fixed and my intake air cone removed, I dig the sound of the engine... now THAT baby sounds good... thumbs_u
