Just a quick question. I will be driving my SHO back and forth from Detroit to Pittsburg about 8-10 times in the 10 months. I want to make sure that it makes it. The motor has about 80,000miles on it and the tranny i think 171,000. The motor is in really good shape, doesnt somke but leaks a little oil.

Now for the question.

This is what I plan on doing: Plugs, Wires, Thermostat, And Oxygen sensors.
It has a newer water pump and I dont think it is the crank seal that is leaking oil. Should I do the CPS and the Timing belt? What else? Change tranny Fluid?
With the CPS and Timing belt it is about $315.

Thanks all.

If your water pump isn't leaking on your CPS and it is functioning fine their really isn't a reason to bother it. How many miles are on your timing belt? Other than that, (and what you are doing) it might benefit the car in general just to flush all fluids (coolant, PS, tranny, and oil of course) for the many trips and for just good maintainence.

You need to replace your timing belt if it has that many miles on it, you are 20k past due. It will give you insurance on your trip, the car will be more efficient, and you won't have to worry about it. The CPS will make the car not run at all, or make it almost impossible to start, then when it starts your tach won't work...if it starts that is.
