***Main Bearings found***

Guys,

I have been talking with my contact at Mahle about the Clevite main bearing sets MS1773-P and have confirmed that there is no chance of re-run from Mahle....BUT, he did point me in the direction of an alternative...

Gentlemen....ACL # 4M1773-STD or 4M1773-00 is the same bearing set. I have already looked online at several places and they appear to be in stock and ready to ship. Prices I saw were around $40/set... I have already sent this info to Mike@ SHOsource so that they could put some on the shelf and start getting these out to SHO owners in need..

I would plasti-gauge before committing to using this set as I amm only passing information I was given from Mahle. I do not know of the quality of ACL parts but at least we have sets available.

I just got word from someone who ordered some that their money has been refunded....ACL bearings are NOT available....I give up, looks like we are all screwed. Time to sell while its still running.

From what I have read, main bearings don't usually need to be replaced if the engine has been maintained. Does anyone know if Sdpatt ever replaced his main bearings, he has over 400K on his car

All those places that say they have them in stock don't actually have them in stock. Tried ordering from several of them a while back and no luck. Good news is main rarely go out. Alternatively, Toyota 4runner bearings will work with a bit of modification.

If you’re planning to machine your crank I have some bearings that are .25 and .5 oversized if you want them. You won’t find standard size unless you’re planning to spend big $$$.

how much you want for them? do you have the thrust washer with that too are these sho bearing but oversize is that correct?

Yes that is what I meant. There are oem and aftermarket part numbers for stock spec size out there, but no actual stock left and not enough demand to make it worth doing another run of production. This has been true (other than an odd set purchased and on someone's personal shelf) for a long time.
