93 ATX w/ 85K, had new eagle gt put on and tire company told me. Ford service manual says "no adjustment". What now a new spindle/hub, and are they hard to change? You can actually see the top of the tire "leaning" in. Almost hits the strut
Thanks, Jay

Broken

Thanks Kenny, I bought the car off the original owner and 1st thing I did was replace the struts with monroe quick struts. Thinking back I rememeber seeing the LR appeared to be tilted in at the top before I changed the strut and the original tire was worn really bad on the inside edge. The ford factory service manual says the chamber is not adjustable and is set at the factory. I was wondering if perhaps its alsways been this way and was just screwed up when built? Car has 85K miles. I will take off tire this week and inspect

You need to install another eccentric bushing on the rear control arms, there is one from the factory for toe adjustment and if both arms have one you can set camber back there too. Both arms would have to be bent to cause a change in camber, and your shop probably would have noticed.

my experience is that rear camber issues are usually due to a bad strut mount.

Had the same issue, one side was almost hitting the strut and the other had lots of clearance.
Despite there being no adjustment, the Ford dealership straightened it out for almost no money (while they were doing something else).
I would not usually recommend taking it to a Ford dealership, but this time it worked out. But this one still does clutches and heavy mechanical work on SHOs. It was recommended by Josh of Shonut (near his operation), and it has been OK.

LR Chamber

Took Wheel off for closer look, control arms not bent, strut springs look good.
Control arm bushing are cracked a little but look good. I put a level on rotor and it is about a 1/4" in at the top. Rotor does get a little tight in one spot as I roll the wheel.

The original owner was a 70 year old retired fighter pilot and he kept a book on everything that was done, (right down to every time he waxed it!)
He took it in to a local Ford dealer on 6/19/1997 w/ 38,803 miles complaining
that the tires where wearing poorly and they did an alignment and he stated the tires had been rotated, car now has 85K and the tire on it when I bought in spring 2010 where worn badly on inside edge LR

I think it has always been like this and the chamber was set wrong at the dealership

I have printed up everyone comments and I will take into Ford this week, new tires and thank God its not my DD
thanks all!
