I just removed both left/right hub assembly with struts. I have to get new bearings pressed in tomorrow. I noticed my right side ball joint when I removed it from the bottom of the knuckle has a ripped boot and just wiggles around. I guess there's no grease in it. How do I change the ball joint? how much does it cost? do I have to remove the control arm?

You have to replace the whole lower control arm. Since you got the knuckle off your got 60% of the work all ready done.

It is held onto the subframe by one bolt and nut, and the strut rod goes through it. You will need to remove the bolt and nut to get it off the subframe - loosen the strut rod and then take the bolt off of the end of it that goes through the control arm and slide that puppy off. It isn't that difficult.
