Lost Tappet Compressor, Can I Use Something Else?

OK i seemed to have misplaced my tappet compressor and i need to get to my valve lash *today*. is there something else i can use in its place? thanks guys.

Nope. Head down to the dealer and see if they hae the 3.0/3.2 engine service kit, and see if they'll let you buy it out of th kit.

good enough, i realized i cant turn the cams without pulling the timing belt off anyway so since theres not much daylight left im going to call it quits and reassemble here. thanks.

Yes you can... 19mm socket on the crank bolt with a breaker bar. Works wonders. :)

It's a LOT easier with the 1 1/16" (27mm?) wrench on the cam itself IF you remove the timing belt (too much stress with the belt on).

Hehe, that's what a 3 foot long PVC pipe cheater on a ratchet on the 19mm crank bolt is for. Takes only one arm leaving the other arm free to hold a beer! thumbs_u

even easier is to leave the drivers side wheel on the ground, jack up the pass side, put the car in 5th gear and turn the pass tire by hand.
