SO I lost the only key to the ignition for my 92 SHO. Can I still get a kep made for these cars? I still have all of the stuff in my owners manual that came originally with the car. Is it still possible to get one made?

I know these used to come with new vehicles. I think they were to get cut for emergency use. I always just had a regular key cut to have as extra. There is no chip in these so just a physical key is always good to have an extra.
You can try it but not sure how durable they are. I imagine if the blank would work people could just buy blanks and take off with vehicles. If you are feeling lucky give it a try.

Are there vehicle identifiers on the card part to cut it from a cross ref table?

Possible. I'll try taking it to a Ford dealership and see. I know these old Ford car keys are cut identical on both sides. As in only one side is used for the ignition. If that doesn't work I'll just go the route Texas Marauder mentioned. I did have a spare key for the car, but unfortunately that too is missing. Reason I lost my main key is I was having my Truck inspected so I just took the ignition key off so I could use the car. Ended up tossing the key into my hoodie and from there... well its anyone's guess where it landed in my house. I mean I technically haven't lost it. It's just some where in my house in its own secret hiding place.

Its a one time use key. It will work but it will break off in the cylinder. Then you need to take it to ford. I think they only work on the doors. And that plastic key needs to be cut same as the metal key. I got same one.
Its a 92 sho, just hotwire it. If there isnt already a video on how to do it i can make one. Very easy to do and unlock the steering wheel. Then you can start it with a screwdriver everytime.

I mean I'll just get a locksmith to get a key for it. However I thought a dealership could make a key by getting the information off the vin number. It's how they do it with modern cars. Wouldn't they still have the info for an older one? It's not like the Taurus is some ancient vehicle. It's from the 90's

Make a 3rd copy and put it somewhere where it will always be. It's so cheap there is no reason not to have multiples.
