Hi,
this summer, I let the SHO in the garage for a new paint job and maintenance.
I put it back on the road last week, I noticed an hesitation of the engine, after more driving I notice it have less power than before especially in 1st gear before 3900RPM when the intake runners changes.
I change the plugs few minutes ago after cleaning some oil in the spark plugs holes...
I plug the G-tech 17.5 sec quarters at 84mph
the SHO went 16.0 @88 last year
the car has loss HP, Maybe its the cats or the MAF...
any other ideas?
On a slight load on the highway when the engine reachs 3000RPM its stop accelerating and I can notice like smalls misfires...
thanks,
Vincent 1993 Taurus SHO 3.2L ATX deep jewel green

Well if you had your plug wells full of oil, your wires just may be toast. You can also try running your ECC codes and see if the car can tell you about anything. Click the link in my sig to learn how.
PS where in Canada are you?

Maybe its time for offroad Y-Pipe!
the car has 123,000KM or 75.000miles

Make certain that your secondaries are actually closing when the car is started, I went several months with a disconnected IMRC solenoid after a heater core replacement and the car was a total dog below 4K.

I struggled with a mis-fire earlier this year. No codes either. I finally broke down and bought a set of plug wires and ba-bing! As mentioned, make sure that there isn't oil in the plug wells. Either re-seal the cam covers or at the very least, clean the plug wells.

Good luck! :thumb:

thanks, there was really some oil in the spark holes,I clean that with brake cleaner and compressed air.I dont really want to remove the valves cover right now, I had too much time on that car (several nights on the paint job, steering rack etc..)

Changing the plugs was really a good thing, the car feels strong on the highway,Steve I will look at the secondaries, good point, it seems to have no power before 4000RPM.But I can hear and feel them opening.
I need to make something to increase the power, dont want to be killed by a honda somewhere

I will plug my wideband meter and check the mixture this weekend.
