Hi everyone want to introduce myself..my name is rob and i am considering buying a 2017 sho. I currently own a 2014 dodge charger rt 5.7 awd..not to happy with it. Have had some tranny issues. I live in the NY metro area and dont know if i should get the PP or not. Dont want to have a harsh ride if the what it gives you. Never drove one whether with PP or not...i would definetly have to get all season tires or snow tires for winter...any suggestions or recommandations are appreciated...also is a new body style sho coming in 2018 or ,aybe later this year since the new body style is already out in china...thanks rob

I'm out on Long Island, western Suffolk.

First, that whole "new body style in China" thing... forget it - that's been thrown the around on the Internet since I don't know, 2015? Not happening here. Not sure it really happened in China either. It all seems to be some rag Internet sites that pushed all that, I never saw anything from Ford about it - if anyone has anything to contradict that, I'd love to hear it.

I've only had two PP's, a 2013 and a 2016 - the 2016 with the same tires seemed to be a somewhat softer ride for some reason.

Just the other day, I put cop-car winter Goodyear tires on 18" rims and bolted them onto my PP - what a difference in ride. Now it is quite a bit softer, but still very predictable in handling and traction.

If you want to adjust the ride, change tires.

The one thing I've read on here about the PP is the 1/8 mile (or 0-60?) times are a bit slower because it shifts into 3rd gear sooner. However, the extra gearing lets me pull away from almost anyone on the road. Just gotta pre-load the turbos a bit :)

Interested in the other feedback you get on this ...

Two schools of thought based on rumors from insiders:
1) The current Taurus will continue unchanged until the new flexible (RWD, FWD, AWD) platform is introduced in 2019 or 2020. At that point the Taurus will either be discontinued altogether or built on a new platform.
2) The Taurus nameplate and the car will die after the 2017 model year.

No one that I have heard speak on the subject expects the Chinese version to be sold here.

All or none of this could be true.

I really really hope #1 is true, except for the Taurus name dieing.

Remember the Five Hundred debacle?
