Happy Holidays from Oshkosh! I just bought TimboSHOs White 93 ATX from him over in Michigan on the SHO Forum. :omgsho:

I have contacted several shipping companies. The cheapest quote I got was $265, which isn't bad for 348 miles. The problem is they can't schedule an exact pick up day and the truck won't come to the door for pick-up. They will only meet within 5 miles of the pick-up/drop off on each end.

My brother-in-law has a tow vehicle but he travels alot.

Driving it back from Michigan with no plates and just a title, not to mention the mufflers are rotted out doesn't seem like a lot of fun.

Or Title it and slap on the plates in MI and maybe bring a couple mufflers and drive it back with possibly a ride from another SHO Member.

It's about a 6 hour trip 1 way. I don't have GPS but Mapquest is good. I think.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

If someone was game to bring a tow vehicle to Oshkosh theres a Uhaul right down the street from where I live so we could hook up and go from there. Just a thought.

:thankyou: Keith

Btw, I would pay for fuel and meals.

As a WI resident, you have 48 hours to legally register a vehicle. More than enough time to drive it back from MI. When I brought my plus home from FL, I had already registered it and WI and flew down with the plates. (which is another option for you) Where in MI is the car?

Grab a friend and have a little road trip. Just make sure you have the title with you and even draft up a bill of sale. Like Chris stated, you have 2 business days to have the car registered and you can drive it during those days, so you are fine on your way back. You can even call your auto insurance company and see if they would insure it for you on your way back if that would make you feel better. If you can't find a friend with an open schedule, see if a bus/train station is nearby.

Or try Kirk at NESHO. He is out of the Northeast, but delivers/picks up cars in the Midwest and might be able to make the trip out if there are other things he is picking up/delivering. You can find his number off of his website.

I flew down to Atlanta early on a Sunday morning to pick up Adam's '96 SHO. Got in the car and drove it all the way home and it was my favorite road trip so far, even though I was alone. :)

Wasn't there someone willing to help you out with that, hmmmmm.....:munch:

I can tell you from many years of personal experience buying and transporting vehicles home from all over the Midwest $265 (even $300) is WELL WORTH IT this time of year. The only reason I wouldn’t have something transported with the cheapest possible transporter if it was something of show quality. Sure a few dollars might be saved doing it yourself but for the time you'll spend and possible headaches involved it's not worth it.....

4DR 4 SHO...I kinda figured you would chime in with something since you replied to my other thread. Again, thanks for offering to help out.

Michelle...I have tried Kirk. All I get is voicemail with no call backs. Hey, I understand if he's not in the area. I don't do the texting thing. I have heard others say to text him.
